Acantopsis choirorhynchos, commonly known as the Horseface Loach, is a species of loach native to Southeast Asia. This fish is often found in swift, clear streams and rivers, as well as flooded fields during the wet season. It prefers sandy or gravel substrates where it can burrow itself.
The Horseface Loach can grow up to 30 cm (12 inches) in length and is known for its distinctive down-turned, horse-like nose. It is a nocturnal species, often active at night and enjoys live food like tubifex.
Interestingly, the scientific name for this species was revised in 2012 to Acantopsis dialuzona, but it is still commonly referred to by its former name.
