To thrive, guppies require warm water with enough space. They thrive in medium-hard water. You should always keep more females than males, as the males will harass the females endlessly if given the opportunity. Live plants are ideal in the aquarium, to give guppy fry a place to hide, or you can purchase a net to contain them.
