Xenomystus nigri, commonly known as the African Knifefish, belongs to the family Notopteridae. Here are some interesting facts about this aquatic creature:

Distribution: Xenomystus nigri has a diffuse natural distribution covering parts of Nigeria, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Chad, Liberia, Gabon, Togo, Sudan, Benin, Sierra Leone, and Angola. Habitat: These knifefish are often found in still, overgrown waters. Their sizeable natural range and various biological adaptations suggest they can survive under a wide range of conditions. They adapst very well to captivity and are relatively easy to care for.

2. Size : Xenomystus Nigri can reach a maximum size of 12″ however 8″ is typical for a captive raised specimen.
